You lose what you don’t use

I’m back! I must say, it’s great writing again after such a long time.

I’ve made some changes, though. This time, my posts will be short, aimed at capturing Aha! moments, epiphanies, penny drops. I will post daily at 6 am.

Longer posts (essays) will remain on my website. I will publish them as and when they are ready. So, here’s today’s post.

A few weeks ago I tried to jog again, but my asthma kicked in. Try sticking your fingers in both your nostrils and letting in only a little air. It feels like that, except the fingers are stuck all the way in your chest and you cannot get them out.

It reminded me of day 2 of training to cycle from Musina to Cape Town, back in 2022. In other words, I’ve lost all that fitness. I’ve regained back pains, stiffness, a dull flaky skin and asthma.

This is a cold reminder that you lose what you don’t use — perhaps friendships too.
